Britain's AI Security Institute will continue testing powerful AI models before release, the UK government said on Monday. AI minister Kanishka Narayan said Britain had worked with the US to preserve access, reversing a move that put US checks first.

Last month, the White House asked OpenAI and Anthropic to withhold new models from UK testers until US officials had reviewed them, and Anthropic did not share Mythos with the institute, Bloomberg reported. Narayan expressed confidence in access to the latest models but cautioned that reliance on another country's technology limits the permanence of the arrangement.
