WhatsApp extends parental controls to teens and restricts Meta AI

WhatsApp extends parental controls to teens and restricts Meta AI Image: Primary
WhatsApp expanded parental controls to teen accounts, adding group activity alerts and a stricter option for Meta AI. Parents can receive notifications when teens join or leave groups, or when an existing group grows meaningfully in size. Parents can also control Channel use and visibility of Status updates. For Meta AI, they can choose the standard experience for users aged 13 and up or a Limited Content setting that further restricts discussion topics. WhatsApp says Meta AI features relying on Private Processing are unavailable under the Limited setting. The controls do not expose teens' messages or calls to parents; those remain end-to-end encrypted.
