Cognizant says it is dedicating more than 18,000 staff to a new group with Google Cloud that will build AI agents for clients using Gemini. The Gemini Frontier Capability Group will focus on modernizing old software, developer tools, business process automation and cyber defence.

The group expands a Gemini practice established in April and aims to move client projects from pilots into daily operations. The companies described a joint investment but disclosed no financial terms. Cognizant also works with other AI providers and joined OpenAI's Codex partner programme in April.
