Researchers say Meta's Muse builds records of users' personal relationships

Researchers say Meta's Muse builds records of users' personal relationships Image: Primary
Meta's Muse assistant reportedly creates pages about people in a user's life using messages, photos and memories of prior interactions, Mashable reports, citing Wired and researcher Karan Joshi. Researchers with FutureSociety say a background process updates the relationship pages every hour. The alleged instructions cover relationship history, preferences, locations, important dates and promises the user has made. Joshi says he extracted Muse's system instructions, but Mashable could not independently verify them. Meta says the assistant gathers relationship context from public information and material users choose to share, subject to permissions they grant.
