An OECD survey of 6,047 firms across six countries found 67% of US firms use software to sanction poor performance, versus 4% across France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It found US firms were also more likely to monitor conversation content and tone. The OECD attributed differences in use to regulatory architecture and warned that many algorithmic-management tools are not AI, leaving them outside AI-specific rules.
