Ukrainian drone strikes knocked out two of Yandex's five data centers, leaving the Russian technology company struggling to maintain its AI chatbot and other online services, Ars Technica reported. The strikes hit facilities in Sasovo and Kaluga on October 8 and October 9, according to Reuters.

The Sasovo facility houses two of the company's three supercomputers used to train YandexGPT. Kaluga is Yandex's largest data center. Yandex acknowledged disruptions to some services and said no employees were hurt. Russian users also reported trouble accessing Ivi, T-Bank and Russian Railways services.
