Amazon RDS adds post-quantum key exchange for PostgreSQL

Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL now supports post-quantum key exchange for encrypted connections, AWS announced. The option is available for PostgreSQL versions 18 and higher and lets database operators choose cryptographic groups from an AWS allow list through the ssl_groups setting. The change affects how clients and databases establish encryption keys for data in transit. Operators can select a supported group to match their organization's security standards, but the announcement limits this configuration to RDS for PostgreSQL versions 18 and higher. AWS says customers can create or update a managed database through its console or command-line interface.
