Epic Systems found flaws in certain MyChart configurations that could allow someone to view patient records without leaving an entry in the access audit trail, its chief security officer, Stirling Martin, told The New York Times.

Epic discovered the flaws while testing its software with Anthropic's Claude Mythos. The tests examined how attackers might use open-source artificial intelligence agents to reach confidential records.
