# AWS lets AgentCore Gateway trust private certificates for internal endpoints

_Published Friday, October 2, 2026 at 5:22 PM EDT · Infrastructure, AI · Latest · Tier 2 — Notable_

AWS has added support for privately issued TLS certificates to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gateway, allowing secure connections to private endpoints without an intermediate Application Load Balancer. The feature covers MCP servers, OpenAPI targets and HTTP proxy targets.

Customers register a private certificate authority's certificate for endpoints powered by Amazon VPC Lattice. The gateway retrieves the certificate from Amazon S3 or AWS Secrets Manager and uses it to trust outbound encrypted connections. Availability is limited to Regions offering both AgentCore Gateway and VPC Lattice.
