Apple agreed to let EU-distributed apps use alternative App Tracking Transparency consent screens after European competition probes, according to TechCrunch. In Germany, France, Italy, Poland and Romania, alternatives can use different formatting and wording, plus a link explaining data use; developers may re-prompt users one year after a prior choice. The agreement does not remove the requirement to seek permission or change when prompts appear.
