Rivian Updates R1 and R2 Software as It Pursues Common OS
Image: Primary Rivian is rolling out software version 2026.31, including Rivian OS 2.0 and Waze real-time alerts, across its R1S, R1T and R2 vehicles, including first-generation R1 models with older hardware. The company says it rebuilt R1 software to align with R2 as it works toward one core operating system across its lineup. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain unavailable. Rivian has not provided a rollout schedule or said whether drivers can submit Waze reports.
