Perplexity adds offline local mode for Computer on Mac

Perplexity adds offline local mode for Computer on Mac Image: Primary
Perplexity has made a local mode for Computer available to Pro, Max and Enterprise subscribers using its Mac app, 9to5Mac reported. The mode runs both the AI model and the agent directing tasks on the device, allowing work without an internet connection. Perplexity says planning, reasoning and file processing can stay on the Mac, with files reaching the cloud only with user approval. With permission, Computer can work with local files and supported apps including Notes, Messages, Mail and Numbers. The mode launches with downloadable Qwen 3.6 and PPLX Pro models. Perplexity recommends an Apple silicon Mac with at least 36GB of unified memory for the best experience; tasks requiring current information, browser use or connected apps can still use authorized cloud access.
