The Department of Energy announced $500 million in grants to bolster the U.S. battery supply chain, according to TechCrunch. Coreshell received $50 million to expand manufacturing of metallurgical silicon anode material. Lilac Solutions received $100 million for a Utah lithium-carbonate processing facility planned to produce 5,000 metric tons annually by 2028, while Nth Cycle said it received $100 million for recycled-battery-material refining. The awards follow the elimination of battery and EV incentives described in the report.
