dbt Charts said it has open-sourced a YAML-based language for declaring interactive dashboards and launched dbtCharts.com in public beta.

The company said its command-line tool can render board files to static SVG, HTML, PNG, PDF and terminal output, and can serve them as a site. The hosted platform adds warehouse connections, conversational analytics, a visual editor, version history and permissioned sharing. dbt Charts said changes made through chat, the editor or code land in the same YAML file in a Git repository.
