Cloudflare offers experimental Rust port of TypeScript compiler

Cloudflare offers experimental Rust port of TypeScript compiler Image: Primary
Cloudflare has made an experimental release of tsrs, a Rust port of the TypeScript compiler, available through npm. The company says early benchmarks show it runs up to 8x faster and uses ~70% less memory than TypeScript 7.0 with the same number of workers checking code types. Cloudflare and VoidZero are developing the port with Max Schwenk of Owner.com, in collaboration with the TypeScript team. Rust's memory management helps the compiler run through WebAssembly in browsers and other constrained environments. The release still differs from upstream TypeScript, including the order of diagnostic messages. Cloudflare aims to minimize those differences before a stable release.
