Swiss government orders youth protections added to draft platform law

Switzerland's Federal Council instructed the responsible federal department on October 14 to prepare a legislative dispatch by the end of 2027 for a new law covering communication platforms and search engines. The direction follows its review of consultation results. The preliminary draft is to gain measures protecting children. The government also directed that the reporting procedure be extended to all content suspected of being unlawful.
