Chrome adds warnings for suspicious sites and copied scam commands

Chrome adds warnings for suspicious sites and copied scam commands Image: Primary
Google announced new Chrome Enhanced Protection defenses that check suspicious websites and warn about copied commands used in ClickFix scams, 9to5Google reported. Those scams persuade users to run commands that install malware, bypassing browser download protections. When a potential ClickFix script is copied, Chrome removes personally identifiable information and sends it to Safe Browsing for analysis. A dangerous verdict triggers a warning. Chrome also uses cloud Gemini models to assess page content alongside domain reputation and other security signals; Google says that content is processed without logging, retention or model training. The suspicious-site alerts distinguish lower-confidence risks from dangerous sites, which retain full-page red warnings. These defenses require Enhanced Protection.
