Anthropic has added instructions to Claude Code on Opus 5.5 to prevent recreations of specific existing games, employee Addy Osmani confirmed, Tom's Hardware reported. Osmani said original game development should continue to work and that the company is adjusting the rules.

Users also reported refusals on reverse engineering tasks. Developer Jarred Walton said checks on his own software stopped working after October 31, while switching to Opus 4.8 let him continue. A separate reverse engineering rule remains unconfirmed.
