_Published Friday, October 16, 2026 at 4:10 PM EDT · Infrastructure · Latest · Tier 2 — Notable_

AWS says customers can now order second-generation Outposts racks connected to its Mexico Central Region. The racks bring AWS infrastructure, services, APIs, and tools into customers' own data centers or colocation facilities.

The expansion gives startups, enterprises, and public sector agencies another regional connection option for on-premises deployments with latency and data residency needs. The announced availability applies to second-generation racks connected to Mexico Central.
