# AWS adds direct InfluxDB routing to IoT Core

_Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 3:42 PM EDT · Infrastructure · Latest · Tier 2 — Notable_

AWS has added an AWS IoT Core rule action that routes device time-series data directly to InfluxDB databases. The action converts data to InfluxDB line protocol and can write to Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB or self-hosted clusters. It supports device-side batching and server-side aggregation, removing the need for custom device-side code or intermediate cloud services in the described workflow. AWS says the feature is available in Global Regions where Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB is available.
