Artem Aleksandrovych Stryzhak received a 70-month prison sentence for his role in Nefilim and Hive ransomware attacks targeting hospitals, government entities and businesses worldwide. The Ukrainian national pleaded guilty in December 2025 to computer fraud conspiracy charges after his extradition to the United States.

Court documents describe a Nefilim arrangement that exchanged access to customized ransomware and decryption keys for 20% of ransom payments. Stryzhak also joined Hive as an early affiliate, breaching and encrypting seven victims' systems, including those of a healthcare provider during the COVID-19 pandemic.
