DoorDash is in advanced talks to acquire Instacart in a transaction that could value the grocery delivery platform at approximately $17 billion, according to reporting by The Wall Street Journal and Reuters. An agreement could come this week, but the people describing the discussions cautioned that a deal is not guaranteed.

The acquisition would combine DoorDash's delivery network and customer base with Instacart's grocery marketplace and retailer relationships. Reuters put Instacart's market value at approximately $13 billion at Friday's close. Instacart previously also held active discussions with Uber.
