Horowitz Andreessen Academy has launched in San Francisco with $42 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz and individual investors. The for-profit education company has opened applications for a tuition-free fellowship expected to admit approximately 50 students in September 2027.

Students will build products and companies with access to more than $50,000 in computing credits and technology resources each. Ten founding technology partners, including OpenAI, Google and NVIDIA, will contribute resources and instruction. The academy also plans a two-year program for fall 2028, subject to regulatory approval, with tuition expected to be comparable to that of elite private universities.
