Financial Stability Board chair Andrew Bailey told G20 finance ministers that AI-driven cyber risk is the most immediate threat to the global financial system, the report says. Bailey warned that advanced AI can change the speed, scale and cost of attacks and that many countries lack systems for managing deployment of advanced models in financial sectors. He also cited the sector's dependence on a small number of technology providers as a confidence risk.
