AWS introduced Live Data in Apps for Amazon Quick, allowing its AI-built applications to query governed Quick Sight datasets when users open them. Previously, those applications displayed dataset figures captured when the app was built. The agent writes SQL during construction, and the published app reruns it under each viewer's permissions.

The feature supports SPICE datasets, which store data in memory, and Direct Query datasets. Viewers must authenticate as Quick users and consent to each dataset on first use; public access is unsupported. SPICE data still depends on dataset refreshes, and an app cannot combine Direct Query datasets from different data sources.
