Google developing Gemini-powered 'Your Day' proactive feed feature
Image: Primary Google is working on a new proactive feed called "Your Day" for its Gemini AI assistant, according to code found in the latest beta version of the Google app.
The feature would let users "receive a proactive feed from Gemini to stay ahead of your day," based on strings discovered in beta version 17.14. It appears as a settings card in the profile menu under Personal Intelligence, alongside existing features like Memory, Connected Apps, and Instructions for Gemini.
The "Your Day" feed can be launched from the navigation drawer, though the exact interface remains unclear. The feature is expected to display cards with upcoming events and relevant reminders, pulling data from users' various Google apps similar to how Personal Intelligence works.
This development represents a potential revival of concepts like Google Now and Assistant Snapshot, which offered proactive information to users. Gmail's AI Inbox serves as a current example of similar functionality within Google's ecosystem.
The code findings come from APK Insight analysis, where developers decompile application files to uncover hints of future features. Google has not officially announced the feature and may choose not to ship it.
