CXMT challenges Pentagon Chinese-military designation

CXMT challenges Pentagon Chinese-military designation Image: Primary
Chinese DRAM maker CXMT has sued the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington seeking removal from the list that identifies it as a Chinese military company. CXMT says it has no affiliation with China's military and designs chips for civilian and commercial use. The company was first designated in January 2025, briefly removed from a version of the list in February, and returned in June. The designation blocks defense contracts but does not restrict commercial sales, according to the report.
