Cornelis said it raised $205 million in a funding round led by IAG Capital Partners and introduced Active Compute Fabric, a networking technology for AI chips.

The company says the fabric lets chips process and send information at the same time, targeting GPU idle time spent awaiting data. Cornelis, which spun out of Intel in 2020, offers an open architecture intended to work with varied GPU and accelerator hardware. It has started shipping its product and expects a new generation later this year.
