AWS said Amazon Redshift can now read from and write to Apache Iceberg v3 tables in data lakes. The release adds support for default column values, row lineage and deletion vectors. AWS said row-lineage pseudo-columns can support incremental and change-data-capture workflows, while compressed deletion vectors are intended to improve frequent update and delete operations. Graviton-based provisioned and serverless Redshift clusters support the format.
