# TP-Link opens Wi-Fi 8 router preorders outside US amid FCC restriction

TP-Link opened preorders for its Archer 8 Ultra Wi-Fi 8 router in the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and other markets, while US sales remain blocked by its lack of FCC Conditional Approval, Tom's Hardware reports. Previously certified TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 equipment can still be sold in the US.

The new router uses a Broadcom chipset and includes two auto-sensing 10 Gbps WAN/LAN ports and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports. TP-Link says it supports up to 200 devices and covers up to 3,600 square feet. The company's incorporation of TP-Link Systems in California has been challenged in legal filings.
