Hollywood writers, directors and producers are taking paid work training AI systems to perform production tasks, the Guardian reported. The work includes reviewing AI-generated shooting schedules, teaching systems to create pitch decks and assessing transcription of noisy video. The report said workers are paid from $12 to $200 an hour through training agencies that contract with major AI companies. It also cited FilmLA data showing Los Angeles shoot days fell 48% between 2021 and 2025.
