# Claude adds public beta for editing Google Workspace files

Anthropic opened a public beta of Claude for Google Workspace today, giving all paid Claude users access to a sidebar in Google Docs, Sheets and Slides through the Workspace marketplace, 9to5Google reports.

Anthropic says the add-on can rewrite document sections while preserving formatting, write spreadsheet formulas and build slides using existing layouts or themes. An "ask before edits" mode lets users preview changes before applying them.

New connectors also let users edit Workspace files from Claude by pasting a file link into a conversation. Gemini already offers many of the same functions inside Google's apps.
