IBM says it has installed a Quantum System Two computer with a Nighthawk r2 processor at the University of Chicago's Hyde Park Labs. The system was unveiled at a November 6 ceremony to support the National Quantum Algorithm Center and the Illinois quantum ecosystem.

The centre brings together industry, academic and government partners to develop quantum algorithms and applications. The computer will operate at the university before moving to the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park, a planned campus on the former US Steel South Works site that will also house the centre.
