# ZuckOff app detects nearby camera glasses through Bluetooth signals

Developer Pawel Szydlowski released ZuckOff, an app that scans Bluetooth broadcasts to flag nearby Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta and Snap Spectacles camera glasses. He created device fingerprints by recording identifiers broadcast by hardware he purchased, and the app uses signal strength to estimate rough proximity.

The app had more than 5,000 reported Apple App Store downloads in its launch month and 1,000 Google Play downloads when reviewed. Its central limitation is substantial: it cannot determine whether detected glasses are recording or identify their wearer, and some standalone models remain silent. Detection therefore indicates nearby compatible hardware, not active filming.
