Apple's latest macOS update includes a patch for CVE-2026-65400, an authentication flaw in Screen Share that could let an attacker on a network access a Mac without valid credentials.

The Netherlands National Cyber Security Centre said it had received notice that the exploit was observed in the wild. The report says Screen Share can expose port 5900 when enabled and that the issue has reportedly been used to obtain root access and install a Monero miner.

Apple released the patch last week for macOS Tahoe, Sequoia and Sonoma.
