Bosch launched its third-generation silicon carbide semiconductors in India, aimed at improving the efficiency and performance of electric vehicles. The company said the latest generation delivers around 20 per cent higher performance compared to previous versions, along with improved energy efficiency, thermal management, and system compactness. Sandeep Nelamangala, Joint Managing Director of Bosch Limited and President of Bosch Mobility India, stated that the advanced SiC technology is designed to deliver tangible benefits such as longer driving range, faster charging, and lower long-term costs. Bosch has supplied more than 60 million SiC chips globally and is expanding its semiconductor capabilities as part of broader investments in power electronics and mobility technologies. The new chips are intended to support a more efficient local EV ecosystem by enabling more compact and cost-effective powertrain designs.
