Kiteworks has urged customers to shut down their file transfer systems before the weekend after receiving what it called credible law enforcement intelligence about a possible attack, TechCrunch reports. The company recommended a precautionary shutdown while it works with law enforcement.

Kiteworks told customers it was concerned that attackers might exploit vulnerabilities it does not yet know about. It recommends its latest software release, version 9.5.1, which it says fixes all known flaws. The company says it is unaware of any compromise of Kiteworks systems; the warning is preventive, rather than a response to a confirmed breach.
