Rakovina gains exclusivity and additional AI drug optimization under amended deal

Rakovina gains exclusivity and additional AI drug optimization under amended deal Image: Primary
Rakovina Therapeutics amended and extended its research agreement with Variational AI, gaining exclusivity over the target product profile for its kt-5000 cancer drug program, RTTNews reported. During the agreed term, Variational AI cannot supply other parties with compounds intended to meet Rakovina's defined combination of potency, selectivity, drug-like properties and brain penetration. Variational AI will provide additional AI lead optimization cycles beyond the five completed, at no additional cost through year-end. In exchange, it will receive increased milestone payments when a drug candidate is nominated and an out-licensing transaction is completed. Rakovina retains control over candidates advancing to laboratory testing. The program remains preclinical and targets ATR, a regulator of the cellular response to DNA damage.
