# Salesforce moves toward charging for third-party agent calls

Salesforce is moving existing customers to billing for successful calls made by third-party AI agents through its API or MCP connection when they renew, SaaStr reports. The agents must also be registered. HubSpot takes a different approach: it charges for use of its own Breeze agents while keeping its MCP server free for agents customers bring themselves.

SaaStr says the added charge is prompting it to consider reading records from its own database and writing back only when records change. That response is the author's experience, not evidence that customers generally have changed their systems.
