Danfoss said most refrigeration equipment affected by the French supermarket cyberattack consisted of legacy products that no longer receive software or security updates. AFP reported that at least 300 Intermarche or Netto shops, over 100 Cooperative U outlets and several E. Leclerc stores were targeted.

Danfoss identified its AK-SM800 and AK-SC355 regulator systems among the affected equipment, including an AK-SM800 version running outdated firmware. The company said it had long advised supermarkets to update from those models.

Intermarche said affected branches must discard all fresh and frozen products. A source close to the French prime minister said the national cybersecurity agency had identified a software vulnerability and contacted the vendor.
