AWS added real-time capacity checks and fulfillment metrics to Amazon EC2 Capacity Manager, the company announced. Customers can assess which instance types and Availability Zones are most likely to support a request without launching or reserving instances.

The checks return High, Medium or Low scores for individual options and an overall score. Fulfillment metrics compare capacity delivered with capacity requested across organizations, accounts, Regions and tagged workloads, with breakdowns by instance type and Availability Zone.

Both capabilities are available in all commercial AWS Regions and are included with AWS Unified Operations, its support plan for global enterprises running mission-critical workloads.
