# Vercel adds GPT-6.1 Terra to AI Gateway

Vercel has made OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra available through AI Gateway for applications and connected coding agents. The model accepts text and images, returns text, and has a context window of more than 1M tokens.

The integration supports the AI SDK, OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API and Responses API, alongside tool calling, structured outputs and configurable reasoning effort. A fast mode is available for latency-sensitive work. Vercel says the gateway passes through provider pricing without an inference markup or platform fee, including requests using customers' own provider keys. OpenAI still recommends larger GPT-6 models for the most complex coding tasks.
