Developers published tools intended to remove Anthropic's invisible text watermarks from Claude output shortly after the company confirmed the watermarking, WIRED reported. One method uses a non-watermarking language model to rewrite text with synonyms and changed structure. Other developers described reordering sentences, translating text and translating it back. Anthropic acknowledged that heavily edited, paraphrased or translated content might not retain a watermark, while saying it plans a text-detection API.
