Anthropic has signed a 20-year lease for the first phase of EverWind Fuels' planned Nova Scotia data centre project, The Star reported. Anthropic confirmed its involvement Friday evening. EverWind will own and develop the facility, investing more than $10 billion across the project, including more than $8 billion for a Cape Breton data centre campus and $2 billion for onshore wind expansion.

The first phase would provide 95 megawatts and is scheduled to operate by late 2027, subject to regulatory, environmental and permitting conditions. A planned 325-megawatt expansion would bring capacity to 420 megawatts later in 2028. The site will support the models behind Claude.
