Meta indefinitely delays commercial terms expanding AI training access

Meta indefinitely delays commercial terms expanding AI training access Image: Primary
Meta has indefinitely delayed commercial terms that would require business account users to permit AI training on external websites linked on Facebook, Ars Technica reports. A Meta spokesperson said existing terms remain in effect while the company engages with stakeholders. The proposed terms required businesses to allow crawling of linked sites to keep their Facebook pages, including providing test credentials to bypass paywalls. The changes had already been postponed from October 30 to November 20. Courts in Brazil and Norway issued preliminary injunctions, and the UK's competition regulator opened a formal investigation.
