Ormat signs Nevada geothermal power agreement with Google Image: Primary
Ormat has signed a power purchase agreement to supply Google with up to 150 megawatts of new geothermal capacity in Nevada through the state utility. The arrangement uses a tariff that allows the buyer to pay a premium for emerging technology, according to The Next Web. Projects are expected online from 2028 to 2030, and Nevada regulators are due to consider the arrangement in the second half of 2026. Ormat's earlier data-center agreement, signed in January with Switch, covered about 13 MW over 20 years.
