Working paper finds later profile edits distort historical AI-skill data

Additions of AI-related terms to prior roles rose more than sixfold after ChatGPT's release, the authors found. They estimate that a 2026 LinkedIn snapshot would overstate the prevalence of AI-related skills in 2022 by about 30%.
