A Wired report says Ulanqab in Inner Mongolia has become a data-center hub, with about 100 facilities already built or under construction. The report attributes the concentration to cheap energy, abundant land and the city's proximity to Beijing. It does not distinguish how many of the sites are operating from how many remain under construction.
