Intrinsic open-sources industrial robot software under Apache license
Image: Primary Intrinsic released Intrinsic Core, an open-source, ROS-compatible software environment for developing industrial robot applications on local hardware. Available on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license, it packages real-time hardware-independent control, pose estimation, motion and grasp planning, simulation, camera calibration and preconfigured device drivers.
The Google robotics group also released an open machine-tending reference design supporting equipment from FANUC and Universal Robots. Intrinsic Core currently targets commercial manipulation with robotic arms and users already familiar with ROS; it does not support mobile robots or humanoids.
