Show, Don't Tell: Claude Cowork Now Learns Skills from Your Screen Recordings
Image: Android Anthropic announced a new feature for its Claude desktop app called Record a Skill that allows users to teach the AI a repeatable task by sharing their screen and walking through the process in real time.
The feature is built directly into the Claude Cowork environment and enables users to turn their clicks and keystrokes into automated actions that Claude can execute again without needing further explanation. Starting a demonstration involves clicking the plus menu inside the Claude desktop application and selecting the Record a skill option, after which users perform routine tasks on screen while speaking aloud.
Once finished, the system assembles the walkthrough into a reusable structured skill within the user's personal library. Access to Record a Skill is available immediately but is restricted to paid subscription tiers including Claude Pro Max and Team plans.
